Questions can be addressed to the Electrical Engineering Graduate Coordinator Dr. David Galipeau, (david.galipeau@sdstate.edu)

The Electrical Engineering program withing the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science offers a variety of courses wich can be used to fulfill the requirements for the Master of Science in Engineering degree with emphasis in Electrical Engineering. The EE program also has active research programs in the areas of:

  • Micro and nano electronics and nanotechnology with empasis on the design fabrication, and characterization of nanoscale chemical/bio sensors (contact Dr. David Galipeau)
  • Radiometric calibration of satellite-based instrumentation and digital processing of satellite imagery (contact Dr. Dennis Helder)
  • Aviation-grade ethanol (contact Dr. Dennis Helder)
  • Distributed generation, especially grid-connected renewable energy supplies (contact Dr. Michael Ropp)
  • Power electronics for photovoltaic systems (contact Dr. Michael Ropp)
  • Sensors based on fiber optics (contact Dr. Alfred Andrawis)
  • Power electronics and controls for electric motor drive systems (contact Dr. Steven Hietpas)
