Graduation Application Process
Semester BEFORE graduation AT TIME OF PREREGISTRATION, just prior to meeting with your advisor for hopefully the last time:
Nine easy steps to follow for
the EE graduation application procedure
(select link and print for more detailed instructions)
----- a short summary of this process is provided below -----
Using webadvisor, perform a program evaluation (ProgEval) (
example
). Using a highlighter, highlight all items that do not show a “c”, i.e., complete, e.g., I, P, IP, etc., should be highlighted.
Complete your Plan of Study (POS) (
example
) located at
http://eecse.sdstate.edu/ee/undergraduate/students/advising/
.
Compare your POS with the webadvisor ProgEval -- highlight discrepancies, if there are any.
Complete the process for the (
FE exam application
, http://eecse.sdstate.edu/ee/undergraduate/students/FEexam.aspx).
Stop by HH201 (Barb Dininger's office) and sign in the log book showing your intention to graduate. Pick up your graduation application (GradApp).
Meet with your Advisor to go over
all
materials (ProgEval, POS, GradApp) as well as to select classes for your final semester. Try to resolve any outstanding issues. Make sure that the catalog year on the ProgEval is the same as shown on the POS. Have your advisor sign the GradApp.
If you are seeking a minor, please have the advisor for that minor sign your GradApp.
Once items 1 through 7 are completed, make an appointment with Dr. Hietpas to review all the materials prior to the end of the same semester (you should make this appointment well before finals week).
Please visit Dr. Hietpas’s
Web calendar
to find times that will work with your schedule.
Identify three completely open ½ hour times slots, i.e., where nothing has been taken, times that match up with open slots for you.
Please
don’t
select office hours.
Email your completed
POS
and your three ½ hour times slot choices to Dr. Hietpas.
Dr. Hietpas will pick one of the choices and respond back via email.
For your meeting with Dr. Hietpas bring hardcopy of the following:
The ProgEval (highlighted, and with catalog year matching that of your POS)
The POS (completed, yellow-highlighted blanks where grades are yet to be recorded)
The GradApp (completed, signed by major and minor advisors)
