IT Job Market on the Rise

It has been reported that even in this time of economic uncertainty, IT jobs are on the rise. One of the biggest potential employers of IT personnel will be the Federal government. Data provided on www.wherethejobsare.org projects that 11,549 new hires by the federal government alone will be needed between 2010 and 2012. A current look at jobs available on www.usajobs.gov shows that an IT management specialist is the 3rd most demanded job right now by the federal government with 4,599 postings on their website and these numbers are only going to rise. Computer Science and Database Administrator occupation is expected to grow 37% between 2006 and 2016 according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics.   Software engineering is expected to grow a whopping 38% during the same time period. These numbers are well above the current average growth across all occupations. All of this adds up to a booming job market in a time where finding a job can prove to be very difficult.
